Chinese Poetry


Some information about Chinese poetry. Chinese poetry is made up of three groups. The groups are Shi , Ci and Qu . Like many other forms of poetry, modern Chinese poetry has western style influences. Shi Jing is the first singnificant collection. The second group was Chu Ci which romantic Chu Chi was written by Qu yuan and his follower song Ys . Later Chu Ci turned in to Fu. Shi and Ci were made until the end of the imperial period. Poetry was revolutionized after May fourth movement. After the communists took over poetry became more liberal. Many poets to day are in group called the misty poets who were exiled in 1986.
